The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown - A Doubletree By Hilton is located in the Fairlie-Poplar district, with a central location perfect for an affordable vacation. This hotel, opened in 1962, has hosted many movie and music stars over the years. Its importance is that it was the first hotel in Atlanta that welcomed customers of all races.
The accessible hotel has an elegant modern design and has spacious facilities adapted for guests with reduced mobility. Some of its decorative elements make a pop-style nod of the 60s.
It also has a restaurant, a bar, a business room, a gym and a swimming pool. The elevators are accessible, they have a lowered keypad and with Braille signage. There is also an accessible parking (for a fee).
Accessible Room
The doors of the rooms are wide to facilitate the access of guests in wheelchairs. Several types of accessible rooms are available: with a double bed or two beds.
In addition, adapted rooms can cover hearing or mobility accessibility needs.
All have a desk, television, minibar, telephone and air conditioning.
Adapted bathrooms vary depending on the type of room. Customers can choose between a bathtub or a shower with a seat. Both options have handles. The toilet has a support bar and all toilets are equipped with free toiletries and a hairdryer.
