The Caribe Hilton, inaugurated in 1949, is located in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico. This historic hotel is close to the airport and the Paseo Caribe, a place where a variety of events are organized and a lot of restaurants and shops are located. The accessible hotel faces the sea, has a bird sanctuary and is surrounded by tropical flora. It was the first Hilton hotel that opened outside the continental United States and legend has it that the modern-day piña colada was created in one of its bars in 1954.
It has a total of nine restaurants and bars serving a variety of cocktails and cuisine (Italian, Puerto Rican and international). Guests can enjoy a private beach area, three tennis courts, a gym and three outdoor swimming pools. An on-site spa provides guests the possibility of experiencing supreme relaxation with an available treatment room. In addition, there is a playground for children. For the business traveler, the property houses a convention center with twenty-four rooms for meetings and events.

The accessible suites and rooms for guests with reduced mobility are spacious and are furnished with either twin beds or a full-size double bed. Rooms have air conditioning, a television, desk, ergonomic chair, coffee maker, minibar, Internet access and alarm clock.
Accessible bathrooms have walk-in showers with a shower seat and grab bars. The toilet also has grab bars. Bathrooms are furnished with a telephone, several free toiletries and a hairdryer.
